Advanced Microtexture Evaluation of Dextran Biofilms Obtained from Low Cost Substrate Loaded with Maytenus rigida Extract

We have obtained kefir biofilms loaded with Maytenus rigida extract. The main goal was to evaluate the influence of addition extract on microtexture using stereometric and fractal parameters. Atomic force microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, contact angle tecniques were used topography, chemical interation wettability biofilms. Chemical evaluation showed that interacts polymeric matrix biofilms, changing their structure. This behavior affected surface energy because decreased when content increased. morphology also suggested prevalence bacteria yeast at lower higher concentrations, respectively. roughness increased according increase in concentration. Texture parameters revealed biofilm lowest concentration had deeper furrows than for Advanced topographic uniformity, percolation texture homogeneity more suitable 0.25 g.L-1 These results indicate this promising 3D micromorphology regenerative medicine application. Furthermore, physics tools be very useful characterizing polymeric-based biological materials.
